State agency resources

FINET overview

FINET is the financial management system used by the state for accounting, budget control, and reporting. Most state agencies in the state of Utah use FINET in some capacity.

FINET is available Monday-Saturday 7 am - 8 pm and Sunday 7 am - 6 pm, including holidays. FINET may not be available on the 2nd weekend of each month due to system maintenance.

DTS Help Desk provides limited assistance during evenings and weekends. Call DTS Help Desk at 801-538-3440 or toll free 1-800-678-3440.

Help desk

To get help with FINET, you can submit a ticket to our help desk or live chat with a representative. Follow the guidelines below.

Submit a ticket

On our finance support home page, scroll down to the bottom and click the gray button Submit a ticket.

Include the information below in your ticket, so we can resolve the problem as quickly as possible! Describe the issue you’re experiencing. Which transaction are you working on, and where do you have the problem?

Provide as much detail as possible about the issue you are experiencing:

  • Transaction
  • ID numbers
  • Include the transaction type and department number
  • Provide steps you were taking when the problem occurred
  • Provide new accompanying screenshots
  • Let us know your communication preference. To help us manage the volume, we typically will communicate via email, but if you prefer a video chat or phone call we’ll accommodate that.

Live chat

We also have a live chat option on our finance support home page. We recommend using this for a short question where details and supporting images wouldn’t be needed to find that answer. For example, the question, “what department do I touch base with for my timecard?” would be a good one for the chat option.

Response time

We strive to reach out to you as quickly as possible, but sometimes the wait can be a little longer depending on volume. FINET help desk is available Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm, excluding holidays. A response should always be within 24 hours. If we’re corresponding with you but don’t receive a response, we’ll follow up within 2 business days to check in to see how things are progressing on your side.

A speedy response to our communication will help us expedite the solution. Please watch for our reply so you can quickly respond back to us. Together we can work to resolve your issue as quickly as possible.

Quality assurance

The quality assurance team conducts internal testing of all systems supported by Financial Information Systems. Its primary responsibility is to ensure that all modifications made to those systems are adequately tested before changes are allowed to move to production environments.

The team also provides business process, system analysis, and design support to the Division of Finance and requesting state agencies. This includes direction, support, and testing when departments develop transactions/data to be sent via interface to the Division of Finance systems.

The Quality Assurance supervisor is Daron Funn. For more information, contact our finance support center:
