Payments and refunds

I’m a taxpayer looking for my refund

Our payment tracking and support team can help you find information about your state tax refund, but for certain information you’ll need to contact the Utah Tax Commission.

Call the Utah Tax Commission at 801-297-2200 if you believe your refund was processed incorrectly or your refund was lower than you expected.

I never received my state tax refund

Your state tax refund may not have been processed or delivered quite yet. After your taxes are filed, it takes a few weeks for a check to be issued. Once the check is issued, it typically takes 30 days for it to be delivered.

The date the check was issued is different from the date your taxes were filed. To find the date your refund was issued, go to the Utah Taxpayer Access Point website and click Check your refund status under the Refunds section of the website. You’ll be able to search for your refund information. The search will show if your refund was issued yet. And if it was issued, you’ll see the date it was issued and the warrant number. Write down the warrant number, because we’ll need it to find information about your refund.

If your refund was issued less than 30 days ago, wait the full 30 days before contacting us.

If your refund was issued more than 30 days ago, call us at 801-957-7760 or for faster service, email us at [email protected]. Be sure to include your warrant number in the email, because we’ll need it to find information about your refund.
